A scene from EVENSONG , a sci-fi feature film script about SIDNEY, a paraplegic woman who convinces her genetic engineer husband RICHARD to create an illegal clone of herself as a sex surrogate in a desperate attempt to save their broken marriage. Since consciousness transfer has not yet been perfected, Sidney's secret clone CLEO emerges as a blank slate, incubated to the same age as Sidney physically -- but mentally a newborn.
In this scene, Cleo, whose whole universe is Richard, encounters a woman for the first time. Sidney has dragged herself to Cleo's shed to meet her, betraying her agreement with Richard (who's away at work). Cleo's home has no mirrors or windows, so she has no idea that Sidney looks exactly like her...​
